Spotify to Launch In-App Messaging to Boost User Engagement

Spotify Technology (NYSE:SPOT) is set to roll out a new messaging feature for both its free and premium users as part of efforts to attract a larger audience and strengthen its position against competitors.

The Swedish streaming service announced Tuesday that the update will allow users to chat and share music with others they’ve previously connected with on the platform.

Spotify confirmed that the messaging function will initially be available on mobile devices for users aged 16 and older in selected regions starting this week.

The move is part of Spotify’s broader strategy to enhance user interaction and engagement, helping the company remain competitive in the fast-evolving digital music industry.
