Stellantis issues recall for more than 53,000 Alfa Romeo vehicles in the U.S.

Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) announced a recall of 53,849 vehicles in the United States due to potential issues with fuel pumps, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday.

The recall impacts certain Alfa Romeo models, specifically the 2017-2018 Giulia and 2018-2019 Stelvio.

The NHTSA indicated that the fuel pumps in the affected vehicles may malfunction, potentially disrupting the flow of fuel to the engine. This problem could lead to a loss of driving power, increasing the risk of an accident.

Stellantis, owner of brands including Chrysler and Alfa Romeo, has not yet provided details regarding the repair schedule or when affected vehicle owners will be contacted.
