Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (NASDAQ:HYMC) shares rose 4.9% in pre-market trading Thursday after the company announced it had fully repaid its remaining $125.5 million in debt, including accrued interest.
The mining firm made the payments on October 15, 2025, starting with the repayment of $15.0 million in principal on its first-lien debt plus $0.1 million in accrued interest. Hycroft then repurchased subordinated notes with a face value of $120.8 million, along with $0.5 million in accrued paid-in-kind interest, at a 9% discount, paying $110.4 million in total.
“For the first time since becoming a public company, we are debt-free with a robust treasury,” said Diane Garrett, President and CEO of Hycroft. “We’ve removed the financial constraints of the past and strengthened our foundation with a world-class institutional investor base and the capital resources to execute our long-term vision.”
This milestone follows three equity offerings completed in 2025, which significantly reshaped the company’s shareholder base. Hycroft noted that approximately 80% of its outstanding shares are now held by institutional investors, including major funds in the global mining sector.
With its debt burden eliminated, Hycroft said it is well positioned to accelerate growth and gain greater operational flexibility as it executes its strategic initiatives.
