Stellantis Recalls Over 320,000 Jeep Plug-In Hybrids in the U.S. Over Fire Risk

Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA) has issued a recall for more than 320,000 Jeep vehicles in the United States due to a potential fire hazard linked to plug-in hybrid battery systems, according to a notice published Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The agency stated that high-voltage battery packs in certain vehicles may contain cells with damaged separators, which could increase the risk of a thermal event or fire.

Stellantis has advised owners to park their vehicles outdoors and refrain from charging them until a permanent repair is completed. The automaker said it is actively developing a fix and will notify affected customers once a solution is ready.

The recall marks another challenge for Stellantis as it advances a broader turnaround strategy aimed at strengthening its U.S. operations and addressing quality and safety concerns across its lineup.
