NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) has joined the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA), a consortium of private equity and venture capital firms focused on funding and mentoring Indian technology startups, the group announced on Wednesday.
The U.S. chipmaker will participate as an “advisory founding member,” according to the IDTA, and will provide technical support and training to early-stage companies through its Nvidia Deep Learning Institute.
“Deep tech” refers to innovation-driven sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology — fields that demand intensive scientific research and advanced engineering.
In a separate announcement, the IDTA said it had secured an additional $850 million in capital commitments, bringing total pledged funding to nearly $1.85 billion since its launch in September.
Other key members of the alliance include Qualcomm Ventures, Celesta Capital, and Blume Ventures, all of which aim to strengthen India’s position as a global hub for next-generation technology development.
