Johnson Controls Tops Q4 Estimates, Lifts Shares with Strong 2026 Outlook

Johnson Controls International plc (NYSE:JCI) reported better-than-expected fiscal fourth-quarter results on Wednesday, delivering solid earnings and revenue growth that outpaced Wall Street forecasts. The upbeat results and robust guidance for fiscal 2026 sent shares up 3.57% in premarket trading.

The smart building technology provider posted adjusted earnings of $1.26 per share, topping the analyst consensus of $1.20, while revenue rose 3% year-over-year to $6.44 billion, above expectations of $6.33 billion. Organic sales grew 4% during the quarter, supported by steady demand across key verticals.

“Johnson Controls delivered a strong year, with double-digit EPS growth and a record backlog of $15 billion, up 13%, reflecting sustained demand in our core verticals,” said CEO Joakim Weidemanis. “Our technology leadership in advanced data center cooling and decarbonization solutions continues to set us apart.”

For fiscal 2026, Johnson Controls issued guidance well above market expectations, projecting adjusted earnings per share of roughly $4.55, far exceeding the consensus estimate of $3.71. The company also expects mid-single-digit organic sales growth for the year.

By segment, Americas sales rose 1% to $4.3 billion (3% organic growth), while EMEA sales climbed 13% to $1.3 billion (9% organic). The Asia-Pacific region posted a 3% decline to $780 million, reflecting regional economic headwinds.

During the quarter, Johnson Controls completed the $8.3 billion sale of its Residential and Light Commercial HVAC business to Bosch Group, with proceeds of approximately $6.9 billion allocated to the company.

With strong earnings momentum, a record backlog, and a bullish outlook for 2026, Johnson Controls appears well positioned to sustain growth in its building automation, energy efficiency, and decarbonization businesses.
