Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) said on Friday that two prominent members of its executive team will be stepping down, marking another notable shift within the company’s upper ranks.
Lisa Jackson — a former head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency who has spearheaded Apple’s sustainability and environmental policy efforts — will retire in January. During her tenure, she oversaw government relations, the company’s environmental strategy, and Apple’s $100 million Racial Equity and Justice Initiative.
Kate Adams, Apple’s general counsel since 2017, is also set to retire, with her departure planned for late next year. She will be succeeded in March by Jennifer Newstead, previously chief legal officer at Meta Platforms and a former U.S. State Department official.
Apple said Adams will continue to manage government affairs until her retirement, after which Newstead will take on that portion of the role as well.
