Mobileye Shares Jump After Landing Major U.S. Carmaker for ADAS Rollout

Mobileye (NASDAQ:MBLY) shares climbed 8% on Monday after the company revealed it has won a significant new customer in the United States for its EyeQ6H-powered advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Under the agreement, the unnamed U.S.-based automaker will deploy Mobileye’s Surround ADAS technology as standard across a broad lineup of both mass-market and premium vehicles. The win represents the second top-10 global automaker to adopt the EyeQ6H platform, following a similar commitment announced by Volkswagen Group in March.

Mobileye now forecasts cumulative future deliveries of more than 19 million EyeQ6H-based Surround systems, including around 9 million units linked to the newly disclosed customer. The system supports hands-free, eyes-on driving in approved conditions at speeds of up to 81 mph, and includes capabilities such as automated lane changes and highway traffic jam assist.

“This selection of Mobileye Surround ADAS by one of the world’s great automakers reflects the power of our approach to democratizing safety and technology,” said Mobileye President and CEO Amnon Shashua. “Leveraging the EyeQ6H as a powerful central processor for ADAS enables better performance, increased features and greater flexibility to automakers and their customers, all at a lower cost.”

The Surround ADAS configuration typically combines a single forward-facing high-resolution camera, four corner cameras used for parking and surround awareness, and multiple radar sensors, all managed by a single EyeQ6H chip. This architecture supports automakers’ push toward electronic control unit (ECU) consolidation in software-defined vehicles while also helping to reduce system costs.

Mobileye expects systems similar to Surround ADAS to become standard fitment on many European and U.S. vehicle models in the coming years, driven by tighter safety regulations and rising consumer interest in hands-free driving functionality.
