UniFuels shares surge after unveiling global growth roadmap

UniFuels Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:UFG) shares jumped 27.5% on Monday after the Singapore-based marine fuel solutions group set out plans to expand its worldwide footprint through a disciplined, organic growth strategy focused on key maritime hubs.

The company said it aims to strengthen its presence in major shipping centers while selectively reviewing strategic options, including acquisitions that fit its long-term objectives. The update builds on UniFuels’ recent geographic expansion, which saw the group establish operations in Dubai, Shanghai and Limassol during 2025.

Management outlined several priorities underpinning the expansion plan, including supporting shipowners across global trade routes, maintaining tight operational discipline, navigating rising regulatory and market complexity, meeting a broader mix of marine fuel needs, and building greater scale and geographic coverage.

“This next phase of expansion reflects our focus on scaling Uni-Fuels’ global operations in a disciplined and measured manner,” said Koh Kuan Hua, Chief Executive Officer of Uni-Fuels. “As bunker markets evolve, shaped by increasing regulatory complexity, decarbonization measures, and a growing range of marine fuel requirements, we are strengthening our operational capabilities and geographic reach to support customers across an increasingly complex bunker landscape.”

UniFuels said it will emphasize organic growth by expanding its workforce, deepening relationships with customers, and broadening market coverage, particularly in Europe and the Americas. The group also plans to reinforce partnerships with physical suppliers and logistics providers to ensure efficient fuel delivery across its global network.

The strategy is designed to address shifting industry dynamics, including new regulatory frameworks such as the EU Emissions Trading System and FuelEU Maritime rules, which are reshaping voyage economics and influencing fuel choices across the shipping sector.
