Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) has secured a tentative labor agreement with SPEEA, the union that represents about 1,600 technical employees who joined the aerospace group following its acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. last year.
According to a statement issued by SPEEA on Thursday, the proposed contract includes a $6,000 ratification bonus and a 20% increase in wage pools spread over a 58-month term.
The union noted that individual salary adjustments will differ depending on performance evaluations.
Technical workers are set to vote on the agreement on January 30. If ratified, the contract would come into force on February 1.
The deal applies exclusively to technical employees who transferred to Boeing as part of the Spirit AeroSystems acquisition. A separate and much larger bargaining unit covering SPEEA engineers in the Seattle area has a contract that is due to expire on October 6.
