In the U.S., futures for the S&P 500 were flat and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 dropped 0.2% in morning trading. Polymetal International added 23.3% and Rolls-Royce Holdings rose 23%. On the other hand, Hexagon Series B slipped 4.9%, and Christian Dior lost 3.5%. The FTSE 100 was flat. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.8% and Germany’s DAX dropped 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 95.79.
In commodities, Brent crude fell 0.4% to $82.91 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.5% to $79.27 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1.9 basis points to 2.444% from 2.425%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury fell by 0.1 basis points to 3.891% from 3.891% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index was flat, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dropped 0.3%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.3%.
