Firefly Neuroscience, Inc. (NASDAQ:AIFF) shares surged about 80% after the company reported progress in developing what it describes as the world’s first EEG/ERP-based foundation model of the human brain, supported by NVIDIA GPU acceleration.
The company said its commercial footprint expanded more than twentyfold during 2025, while the volume of EEG/ERP brain scans processed increased 33 times year over year. Following its acquisition of Evoke Neuroscience Inc. and additional internal growth initiatives, Firefly ended the year with 99 commercial partners that collectively completed more than 10,800 EEG/ERP brain scans.
Growth in partner sites and clinical assessments reached 1,880% and 3,227%, respectively, according to the company.
“Our mission is to harness the power of AI and EEG/ERP to transform neuroscience and clinical development,” said Greg Lipschitz, Chief Executive Officer. “With an exponentially growing foundation of clean data, and by deploying NVIDIA L40S GPU acceleration to power next-generation EEG/ERP processing, the company believes that it is poised to make additional new breakthroughs in cognitive brain biomarker discovery, and to fulfill its goal of building and launching the world’s first EEG/ERP-based foundation model of the human brain.”
Firefly’s proprietary database now contains more than 191,000 EEG/ERP brain scans, which the company says represents the largest standardized repository of its kind. Its FDA-cleared brain analytics technology is intended to improve diagnostic and treatment monitoring capabilities for neurological and psychiatric conditions such as depression, dementia, anxiety disorders, concussions and ADHD.
The company said the latest developments represent an important step toward the eventual commercial launch of its brain foundation model, which aims to provide clinicians and researchers with deeper insights into brain function.
Over the past year, AIFF shares have traded between $0.62 and $6.00. The stock was recently trading around $1.23, reflecting an approximately 80% gain on the day.
