Zoom Expands AI Platform With New Workflow Automation Features

Zoom Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:ZM) announced an expansion of its enterprise artificial intelligence platform, introducing new workflow orchestration capabilities designed to automate tasks across its Workplace, Phone and customer experience products.

The new features allow organizations to trigger automated actions and cross-system workflows directly from meetings, calls and customer interactions, integrating collaboration tools with broader enterprise systems.

As part of the update, Zoom launched AI Companion 3.0 across the Zoom Workplace app, Zoom Business Services and Workvivo. Previously limited to browser-based use, the AI platform now connects conversations, enterprise data and applications across Zoom’s ecosystem. The company said AI Companion’s monthly active users more than tripled year over year in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.

Zoom also introduced new Custom AI Companion tools that enable organizations to create AI agents capable of retrieving insights, automating processes and coordinating workflows across third-party systems such as Salesforce, Slack and ServiceNow. The platform now includes 10 additional secure connectors for enterprise data integration with services including Box, Google Drive and OneDrive.

“The next phase of enterprise AI will be defined by the ability to move from conversation to action,” said Velchamy Sankarlingam, president of Product & Engineering at Zoom.

Zoom Workplace is also receiving several new capabilities, including a redesigned interface, a live voice translator that provides real-time audio translation in five languages and technology designed to detect deepfake audio or video during meetings.

For Zoom Phone—used across more than 10 million seats globally—the company added SMS functionality to its Virtual Agent AI Receptionist and introduced Zoom Phone Mobile, allowing employees to make business calls through native smartphone dialers while maintaining AI-enabled calling features.

Meanwhile, Zoom’s CX and Revenue Accelerator offerings are being upgraded with AI Expert Assist 3.0 for contact centers and a Customer Workflow Orchestration tool that allows workflows to be created using natural-language commands.

Zoom said its Customer Experience division delivered high double-digit growth, noting that paid AI features were included in each of its ten largest CX deals during the most recent quarter.
