Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) said on Friday that it will reduce the commissions it charges app developers in China, a rare adjustment for the company in what is its largest market outside the United States.
The tech giant announced that its fee on digital transactions made through the App Store in China will fall to 25%, down from 30%, following discussions with local regulators. The change is scheduled to take effect on Sunday.
The lower rates will also apply to smaller developers and certain subscription-based services, where commissions will be reduced to 12% from 15%.
