Klarna (NYSE:KLAR) said it has reached a milestone of 1 million merchant partners globally, marking a 47% increase in merchant adoption over the past year. The digital payments company added about 285,000 merchants during 2025, including more than 115,000 in the fourth quarter alone.
The company said the expansion was driven in part by broader partnerships with payment service providers, which help businesses integrate Klarna’s checkout solutions. Through this network, Klarna now operates in 26 markets worldwide.
Among merchant categories, Leisure, Sport & Hobby recorded the fastest growth, rising 91% year over year in February 2026. The company said the increase reflects stronger consumer demand for flexible payment options across wellness and fitness-related purchases.
“Home repairs, a new couch, salon appointments, gym memberships – these are facts of life for most people, but the way they pay for them hasn’t kept up,” said David Sykes, Chief Commercial Officer at Klarna. “Reaching 1 million merchants is a reflection of how deeply embedded Klarna is becoming in everyday money management.”
Klarna currently processes around 3.4 million transactions each day and serves more than 118 million active users worldwide. Its merchant network includes major brands such as Uber, H&M, Saks, Sephora, Macy’s, Ikea, Expedia Group, Nike and Airbnb.
The information was disclosed in a company press release.
