Rubrik (NYSE:RBRK) has launched a new data protection solution designed for organizations using Google Workspace, targeting the more than 11 million businesses that rely on services such as Google Drive and Gmail.
The new platform, Rubrik Data Protection for Google Workspace, is designed to strengthen data security and improve recovery capabilities for companies operating within Google’s cloud-based productivity ecosystem.
The service offers immutable and logically air-gapped backups for Gmail and Google Drive, along with automated policy-based service level agreements and advanced recovery tools. Rubrik said the technology can reduce recovery times from days to minutes while preserving original data structures and system permissions.
“Organizations can’t protect data in isolation. Modern resilience requires us to see the entire estate at once,” said Anneka Gupta, Chief Product Officer at Rubrik. “Rubrik is built on three pillars of resilience – data, identity, and AI – because an attack or error in one is a direct threat to the entire ecosystem.”
According to the company, the platform uses immutable backup technology combined with logical air-gap protection to help safeguard data. It also provides high-fidelity recovery capabilities designed to restore systems quickly while meeting recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO) requirements.
Rubrik said the new offering is intended to address the growing need for stronger data protection among organizations that store critical information within Google Workspace applications.
The company added that the solution is designed to minimize the risks of data loss and operational disruption for businesses heavily reliant on Google’s cloud services.
The announcement comes ahead of Rubrik’s participation in Google Cloud Next 2026, which will take place from April 22 to 24 in Las Vegas. Rubrik describes itself as a security and AI operations company focused on delivering data security platforms that help organizations recover from cyberattacks and operational outages.
