Stryker shares climb after company says cybersecurity incident contained

Shares of Stryker (NYSE:SYK) gained 2.82% to $345.14 in premarket trading on Monday after the medical device manufacturer said it had contained a recent cybersecurity incident.

The company said its investigation has found no indication that the event affected systems belonging to customers, suppliers, vendors or other partners.

Stryker said the breach involved a malicious file that was used to conceal activity but was unable to propagate either within the company’s internal systems or externally. The investigation was carried out with support from Palo Alto Networks’ (NASDAQ:PANW) Unit 42 cybersecurity team.

According to the company, the incident impacted parts of its corporate network, including elements of its Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) environment.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Stryker said it has not yet determined whether the incident could have any material impact on its business operations or financial results.
