Alaska Airlines (NYSE:ALK) has introduced a new International Business Class offering aboard its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners as the carrier expands service to destinations in Europe and Asia this spring.
The upgraded cabin features fully lie-flat suites equipped with privacy doors, direct aisle access, and 18-inch HD entertainment screens. Travelers will also be served multi-course meals curated by Seattle chef Brady Ishiwata Williams, receive premium bedding produced in partnership with Filson, and enjoy entry to Alaska’s airport lounges as well as those of its oneworld alliance partners.
“We set out to design a Business Class experience that is both sophisticated and authentically Alaska: premium, comfortable and thoughtfully created for our guests,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines.
The airline will launch the service with nonstop flights from Seattle to Rome beginning April 28, followed by London on May 21 and Reykjavik on May 28. Service to Seoul is scheduled to begin in April, while Tokyo flights are planned for the fall. The Reykjavik route will operate on a 737 MAX 8, offering a modified premium cabin experience.
The announcement also marks five years since Alaska Airlines joined the oneworld alliance, which connects passengers to more than 900 destinations worldwide on a single ticket, according to the company.
Alaska said it plans to equip its 787-9 fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi later this fall. Beginning in May, passengers will need to log in with their Atmos Rewards membership number to access the service, which remains free through the airline’s partnership with T-Mobile.
Alaska Air Group operates Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air, serving more than 140 destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia, and the Pacific.
