Rubrik chosen as preferred cybersecurity partner by American Hospital Association

Rubrik (NYSE:RBRK) said it has been designated a preferred cybersecurity provider by the American Hospital Association, a move that gives the data protection firm access to nearly 5,000 member hospitals across the United States.

Through the designation, Rubrik will be able to offer cyber resilience solutions, data protection services, ransomware preparedness training and financial risk analysis tools to organizations within the AHA network. The association represents roughly 90% of hospitals and health systems nationwide and includes more than 420,000 healthcare professionals.

“Ransomware attacks that knock critical care systems offline threaten patient and community safety,” said John Riggi, National Advisor for Cybersecurity and Risk at the AHA. “As an AHA preferred provider for cyber resiliency, we can confidently recommend Rubrik as a reliable source to defend against and recover from sophisticated cyberthreats and ransomware attacks for our hospitals and healthcare system.”

The AHA’s Preferred Cybersecurity & Risk Provider Program highlights vetted service providers capable of helping hospitals safeguard operations from cyberattacks and other security risks. Healthcare institutions have increasingly faced ransomware incidents that can disrupt services and even force facilities to temporarily shut down.

As part of the initiative, Rubrik will make available a Cyber Resilience Bundle to AHA members, including Identity Recovery capabilities and protection for Microsoft 365 environments. The offering also includes a ransomware response workshop and a five-year financial risk assessment designed to help healthcare providers evaluate and mitigate cyber threats.

“Cyber resilience is essential now that frequent cyberattacks jeopardize the financial stability of healthcare systems and the safety of their patients,” said Josh Howell, Healthcare Chief Technology Officer at Rubrik.

According to the company, the services aim to help healthcare providers maintain what Rubrik describes as a “Minimum Viable Hospital” during cyber incidents by safeguarding critical applications and enabling the rapid restoration of essential systems.
