Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NASDAQ:KMB) said a fire broke out at a distribution center in Ontario, California, a site operated by its third-party logistics partner NFI Industries. The company confirmed that no injuries were reported and that all personnel at the facility were safely evacuated.
The warehouse is leased by Kimberly-Clark but managed by NFI Industries. According to the company, no Kimberly-Clark employees were present at the location during the incident, and the event did not impact any manufacturing operations. Kimberly-Clark also noted that it maintains insurance coverage for both business interruption and property damage.
The company said it has deployed a response team to address the situation and limit any disruption to customers and consumers. Kimberly-Clark added that its supply chain is structured to maintain operations during unexpected disruptions and that contingency plans have been activated. Alternative facilities have already been identified to receive incoming shipments, and additional warehouse capacity is being secured through regional logistics partners.
Kimberly-Clark said further information will be provided during its quarterly business update scheduled for April 28. Any inquiries regarding the cause of the fire should be directed to the Ontario Police Department. The company also stated that an individual detained by authorities in connection with the incident is not a Kimberly-Clark employee.
Kimberly-Clark produces a wide range of consumer goods, including brands such as Huggies, Kleenex, Scott, and Kotex, and operates in more than 175 countries and territories worldwide.
