Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) has started production of its Cybercab, a fully autonomous robotaxi built without a steering wheel, chief executive Elon Musk said on Friday.
The Cybercab marks a strategic move toward a dedicated self-driving ride-hailing platform. Designed specifically for autonomous use, the vehicle does not include conventional driver controls.
Tesla shares rose 0.7% in premarket trading following the update.
