In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.1% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 was flat in morning trading. UBS Group added 5.5% and Rockwool Series B climbed 4.5%. On the other hand, Ambu Series B slipped 5.7%, and Pernod Ricard dropped 3.5%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.1% and Germany’s DAX climbed 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index was flat at 98.02.
In commodities, Brent crude was flat at $85.25 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 0.1% to $81.69 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield declined by 3 basis points to 2.517% from 2.548%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury held steady at 4.11%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.9%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.9%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite dropped 0.6%.
