Stellantis NV (NYSE:STLA) is recalling more than one million Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles due to a potential fire risk, according to a report published by the Detroit Free Press on Monday.
The recall covers an estimated 1,076,999 vehicles produced between 2021 and 2025. The issue is linked to wiring associated with the hydraulic power steering pump, where an electrical fault could increase the risk of a vehicle fire.
According to the report, Stellantis has not yet identified a definitive repair for the problem. In the meantime, the automaker is advising affected vehicle owners to park their vehicles outdoors and away from buildings or other structures as a precautionary measure.
The latest action represents the largest in a series of recent recalls affecting Jeep models. In November, Stellantis recalled plug-in hybrid versions of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee over comparable fire-related concerns. The company also ended production of its plug-in hybrid vehicle range by the close of 2025.
Stellantis did not immediately provide a response to a request for comment submitted by email, according to the report.
