Redwire Corporation (NYSE:RDW) shares gained 4.6% on Wednesday after the aerospace and defense company announced it had received 21.5 million dollars in follow-on orders to supply additional Stalker unmanned aircraft systems to the U.S. military.
Follow-on orders expand Stalker UAS programme
The new purchase orders were awarded by the Portfolio Acquisition Executive Robotic Autonomous Systems (PAE RAS) and support the Aircraft Program Management Office Family of Small UAS Team.
The contracts, awarded during the second quarter of 2026, include a second Advanced Stalker Block 30 system alongside additional standard Stalker systems.
Builds on earlier defense awards
The latest agreement follows approximately 20 million dollars in contracts secured during the first quarter of 2026.
Those earlier awards included the U.S. Marine Corps’ first acquisition of Redwire’s Advanced Navigation version of the Stalker Block 30 unmanned aircraft system.
The latest purchases continue the Marine Corps’ programme to modernise its existing fleet, which already includes hundreds of Stalker platforms in active service.
Advanced navigation systems enhance capabilities
Each Advanced Navigation package includes unmanned aircraft, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance camera payloads, short-, medium- and long-range ground control stations, along with associated support equipment.
The systems are designed to improve operational flexibility and surveillance capabilities across a range of defence missions.
Contract awarded through Defense Logistics Agency
The procurement was completed under the Defense Logistics Agency’s Tailored Logistics Support contract.
Atlantic Diving Supply served as the prime contractor for the programme.
The latest award further strengthens Redwire’s position within the defence and autonomous systems market as military customers continue investing in next-generation unmanned aircraft technologies.
