GameStop (NYSE:GME) has partnered with Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) to make its products available through the Uber Eats platform, giving customers across the United States access to on-demand and scheduled delivery of gaming products.
Gaming products available through Uber Eats
Under the new agreement, customers can order a wide range of GameStop merchandise, including video games, gaming consoles, accessories and collectibles, directly through the Uber Eats app.
GameStop will appear within the app’s Retail and Electronics categories, where users can place orders and monitor deliveries in real time.
Partnership targets growing demand for fast retail delivery
The collaboration reflects growing consumer demand for rapid delivery of retail products beyond food and groceries.
Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery and Retail for Uber in North America, said:
“Whether they’re replacing a controller before game night, picking up the latest game release on launch day, or grabbing a last-minute gift, consumers increasingly expect gaming essentials and collectibles to be available on-demand.”
Uber continues expanding its retail marketplace
According to the companies, the Uber Eats marketplace now includes thousands of retail locations across multiple categories, including groceries, convenience stores, beauty products, home improvement, office supplies, pet products and consumer electronics.
The addition of GameStop further expands Uber’s retail offering while giving GameStop another channel to reach customers seeking fast access to gaming products and accessories.
