US Futures Up, European Stocks Mixed as Markets Await ECB Decision

In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.1% in morning trading. Deliveroo added 7.3% and Adevinta rose 3.9%. On the other hand, THG dropped 8.6%, and Aena SME lost 3%. The FTSE 100 added 0.4%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 decreased 0.1% and Germany’s DAX fell 0.1%.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.1% to 98.99.

In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.6% to $92.42 a barrel, and WTI crude climbed 0.7% to $89.10 a barrel.

The German 10-year Bund yield held steady at 2.657%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 1 basis point to 4.25% from 4.259%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 1.4%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.6%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.1%.
