Delta Gold Technologies Plc (USOTC:DGQTF) (AQSE:DGQ) (FRA:02J) has appointed Professor Dr Harry Ruda and Professor Ken Knappenberger to its Strategic Advisory Panel, reinforcing the company’s scientific expertise as it continues to develop quantum technologies based on nano-scale gold. The company also announced the issue of new ordinary shares following the exercise of investor warrants.
The two appointments expand the advisory panel established earlier this year with the addition of Dr Thomas P Davis. Delta said the group will provide independent guidance on scientific strategy, research investment and commercial development as the company builds its intellectual property portfolio.
Advisory panel supports research and IP strategy
According to Delta, the Strategic Advisory Panel has been formed to help the board assess research priorities, identify commercial opportunities and guide investment decisions across its scientific programmes.
Its role includes reviewing research projects, advising on intellectual property strategy, identifying strategic partnerships and supporting the commercialisation of technologies emerging from the company’s academic collaborations.
Both Professor Ruda and Professor Knappenberger already play key roles in Delta-sponsored research programmes through the University of Toronto and The Pennsylvania State University, giving the company direct access to expertise aligned with its existing research activities.
Academic appointments expand existing expertise
The latest appointments build on the panel created in May 2026 when Dr Thomas P Davis became its first member. Dr Davis, who serves as co-founder and chief executive of Oxford Sigma, was appointed to provide independent advice on research strategy and the translation of scientific discoveries into commercially valuable intellectual property.
Delta believes the addition of Professors Ruda and Knappenberger strengthens the connection between its university research programmes and its long-term commercial objectives.
Professor Harry Ruda joins from the University of Toronto
Professor Harry E. Ruda studied at Imperial College of Science and Technology before completing his doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Following an IBM Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, where he contributed to early work on electron transport in quantum nanostructures, he later worked at 3M Corporation on semiconductor laser technologies.
Since joining the University of Toronto in 1989, Professor Ruda has held appointments in both Materials Science and Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. He later became Director of the university’s Centre for Nanotechnology and has produced more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, authored four books and secured 14 patents during his academic career.
Professor Ken Knappenberger brings nanomaterials expertise
Professor Kenneth L. Knappenberger Jr. is Professor of Chemistry and Physics and Head of the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on the electronic, optical and spin properties of nanomaterials, particularly gold nanoclusters used in advanced quantum applications.
After earning his PhD at Penn State, he completed postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley before joining Florida State University, where he led the magneto-optics programme at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. Since returning to Penn State in 2017, he has published more than 100 scientific papers and received multiple honours, including CAREER awards from the U.S. National Science Foundation and Department of Defense.
