In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.4% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.2% in morning trading. Samhaellsbyggnadsbolaget added 22.3% and Ubisoft Entertainment climbed 5.2%. On the other hand, Entain sunk 4.2%, and NEL dropped 3.3%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.1% and Germany’s DAX dropped 0.1%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index climbed 0.1% to 99.74.
In commodities, Brent crude rose 0.4% to $92.34 a barrel, and WTI crude gained 0.5% to $90.46 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1 basis point to 2.755% from 2.742%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 3 basis points to 4.471% from 4.44%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index gained 0.9%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 1.6%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.5%.
