ACI Worldwide Expands Connetic Payments Hub to Support Swift’s Blockchain Ledger

ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ:ACIW) has announced an expansion of its cloud-native payments hub, ACI Connetic, to support transactions processed through Swift’s blockchain-based ledger alongside conventional payment flows.

The integration is designed to allow banks to manage tokenised deposit payments and traditional transactions within a single operating model, using existing infrastructure, workflows and operational controls.

The approach removes the need for banks to establish separate payment operations specifically for digital assets.

Integration Supports Cross-Border Tokenised Deposits

Swift announced its blockchain-based ledger last year and has since confirmed that it is ready for initial use.

According to ACI Worldwide, 17 banks across six continents are piloting use cases involving the technology.

The ledger is designed to enable banks to transfer tokenised deposits across borders, extending transactions beyond individual financial institutions and traditional banking hours.

By incorporating support for the ledger into ACI Connetic, ACI aims to allow banks to introduce these payment capabilities without replacing their existing processing infrastructure.

Automated Routing Combines Traditional and Digital Payments

ACI Connetic uses rules defined by banks and their customers to select clearing and settlement routes automatically.

The system allows financial institutions to manage payment speed, transaction costs and service availability across different payment types through a single integration.

The addition of Swift ledger support means banks can apply their established operational processes to tokenised deposit transactions while continuing to process conventional payments.

Craig Ramsey, Senior Vice President and Head of Account-to-Account Payments at ACI Worldwide, said:

“Digital assets should extend a bank’s payment capabilities, not force it to build a second payment operation.”

He added:

“Banks need a practical way to operationalize tokenized deposits at scale using the people, controls and processes they already trust.”

ACI to Demonstrate Capability at Sibos

ACI Worldwide representatives will present the new functionality at the Sibos financial services conference.

Live demonstrations are scheduled for 30 September at 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at stand D027.

The showcases will demonstrate how ACI Connetic can support payments through Swift’s blockchain-based ledger alongside existing payment systems.
