Acuity Shares Rise After Fourth-Quarter Earnings Beat Estimates

Acuity Inc. (NYSE:AYI) shares rose 2.23% in premarket trading after the industrial technology company reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings above analyst expectations, while revenue came in slightly below estimates.

For the quarter ended August 31, 2026, Acuity reported adjusted diluted earnings of $5.77 per share, exceeding the analyst consensus of $5.66.

Revenue increased 3% year on year to $1.24 billion from $1.21 billion, compared with an analyst estimate of $1.25 billion.

“We demonstrated solid execution in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026. We grew sales and expanded our adjusted operating profit and adjusted operating profit margin,” said Neil Ashe, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Acuity.

Adjusted Operating Profit Rises 3.4%

Fourth-quarter adjusted operating profit increased 3.4% from the previous year to $232.9 million.

Adjusted operating margin reached 18.7%, an increase of 10 basis points compared with the prior-year period.

Acuity received $44.9 million in tariff refunds during the quarter, which the company treated as a non-GAAP adjustment.

Full-Year Sales Increase 7%

For fiscal 2026, Acuity reported net sales of $4.64 billion, representing a 7% increase from fiscal 2025.

Adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 11% to $19.90, while cash flow from operations totalled $826 million for the year.

Performance varied between the company’s operating segments. Acuity Intelligent Spaces reported fourth-quarter net sales of $297.6 million, up 17% year on year.

Acuity Brands Lighting generated net sales of $958.7 million, representing a 0.4% decline from the same period a year earlier.
