Freightos Limited (NASDAQ:CRGO) reported preliminary third-quarter 2026 operating figures ahead of its previous guidance, with platform transactions increasing 15% year-on-year and gross booking value rising 30%.
The digital freight booking and payment platform operator recorded approximately 494,000 transactions during the quarter ended 30 September 2026, exceeding its guidance range of 481,000 to 490,000 transactions.
Gross booking value (GBV) reached $437 million, above management’s expected range of $390 million to $397 million.
The company attributed part of the stronger booking value to elevated freight rates, reflecting constrained shipping capacity and higher fuel costs during the period.
The preliminary figures, announced on 15 October, also showed increases in the number of active carriers and unique buyers using the Freightos platform.
Platform Transactions Increase 15% Year-on-Year
Freightos reported approximately 494,000 platform transactions in the third quarter, representing growth of 15% compared with the corresponding period in 2025.
The result exceeded the upper end of management’s guidance range by 4,000 transactions.
Transaction volumes provide an indication of activity across the company’s digital freight marketplace, which connects freight buyers with carriers and other logistics service providers.
The increase suggested continued growth in the number of bookings processed through the platform.
Chief Executive Officer Pablo Pinillos highlighted the performance against the company’s previous expectations.
“Our third-quarter performance reflects continued momentum across the Freightos Platform, with transaction volumes and GBV exceeding our expectations,” Pinillos said.
The higher transaction count indicated increased platform usage, although the company has not yet disclosed the full financial contribution from its third-quarter activities.
Gross Booking Value Rises 30% to $437 Million
Freightos reported third-quarter gross booking value of $437 million, an increase of 30% year-on-year.
The figure exceeded the upper end of the company’s guidance range of $397 million by $40 million, representing an outperformance of approximately 10%.
Management attributed the stronger result partly to higher freight rates, which were supported by tight capacity conditions and increased fuel costs.
Gross booking value represents the value of freight transactions processed through the platform rather than revenue recognised directly by Freightos.
Consequently, growth in GBV does not necessarily translate into an equivalent increase in the company’s reported revenue.
The 30% rise in GBV exceeded the 15% increase in transaction volumes, indicating that the average value of transactions was higher than in the corresponding period last year.
This difference was consistent with the company’s explanation that elevated freight rates contributed to the increase in booking value.
The figures suggested that both transaction activity and freight pricing conditions supported the platform’s performance during the quarter.
Active Carriers Increase to 79
Freightos also reported an expansion in the number of carriers actively participating on its platform.
The total reached 79 during the third quarter, compared with 75 in the second quarter of 2026 and 77 in the third quarter of 2025.
The figures represented an increase of four carriers sequentially and two compared with the previous year.
The company identified Korean Air as one of the carriers active during the quarter, following its recent addition to the platform.
Expanding carrier participation can increase the range of freight services available to buyers and potentially support transaction growth.
However, the financial contribution from individual carriers was not disclosed in the preliminary update.
The increase in active carriers accompanied higher transaction volumes, indicating that platform activity expanded alongside the number of participating transport providers.
Unique Buyer Users Reach Approximately 21,900
The number of unique buyer users on the Freightos platform increased to approximately 21,900 during the third quarter.
This compared with 21,100 in the preceding quarter, representing an increase of around 800 users, or approximately 3.8%.
The growth indicated a larger base of buyers using the platform during the reporting period.
Buyer participation is an important operating measure for digital freight marketplaces, as it provides an indication of customer engagement and potential transaction demand.
The increase in unique buyers occurred alongside growth in active carriers, transaction volumes and gross booking value.
However, the company did not provide a year-on-year comparison for unique buyer users in its preliminary announcement.
Full Third-Quarter Financial Results Due in November
Freightos emphasised that the operating figures remain preliminary and could change before the publication of its full financial results.
The company plans to release its third-quarter 2026 financial results before US markets open on 23 November 2026.
A management webcast and conference call are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time on the same day.
The full results will provide additional information about revenue, profitability and the financial performance of the company’s business segments.
Freightos noted that its Solutions segment accounts for the majority of company revenue but is less directly represented by the platform operating indicators included in the preliminary update.
As a result, the stronger transaction and GBV figures should not be treated as a complete indication of the group’s quarterly financial performance.
Further details about the Solutions business will be included in the November earnings announcement.
Investors Await Financial Results Following Stronger Platform Activity
Freightos’ preliminary third-quarter update showed operating performance above management’s previous expectations, supported by higher transaction volumes, increased gross booking value and growth in platform participation.
The company processed 494,000 transactions, while GBV reached $437 million, with both measures exceeding their respective guidance ranges.
The increase in booking value was partly attributable to higher freight rates, meaning the 30% annual growth rate reflected both transaction activity and pricing conditions.
Active carriers rose to 79, while unique buyer users increased to approximately 21,900.
Investors will now be looking to the full financial results on 23 November for evidence of how the stronger platform activity affected revenue and profitability.
Particular attention will be paid to the Solutions segment, which generates the majority of Freightos’ revenue but is not fully reflected in the preliminary operating figures.
The forthcoming earnings release will provide a more complete assessment of the company’s performance during the third quarter of 2026.
