U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.3% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.2%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.4% in morning trading. Worldline rose 6.3% and Svenska Handelsbnkn Ser A climbed 5.3%. On the other hand, ABB sunk 6.2%, and Kinnevik Series B lost 5.9%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.2% and Germany’s DAX dropped 0.2%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.1% to 100.32.
In commodities, Brent crude gained 1.7% to $91.43 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 1.9% to $88.33 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 3 basis points to 2.91% from 2.881%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury climbed by 3 basis points to 4.861% from 4.834%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index was flat, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.2%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite declined 0.8%.
