U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 fell 0.3% in morning trading. Vodafone Group rose 4.5% and Entain added 3.8%. On the other hand, Idorsia dropped 5%, and Auto1 Group dropped 3.1%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were down as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.5% and Germany’s DAX dropped 0.3%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.1% to 96.77.
In commodities, Brent crude gained 0.6% to $77.04 a barrel, and WTI crude climbed 0.5% to $71.82 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 2 basis points to 2.037% from 2.019%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 1 basis point to 3.907% from 3.914%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were down as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index declined 0.6%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite dropped 0.4%.
