US initial jobless claims unchanged at 212,000

The number of seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims in the United States came in at 212,000 in the seven days ending April 13, unchanged from the previous week’s revised level, the Department of Labor stated in its report published on Thursday.

The 4-week moving average was also unchanged compared to the previous week’s unrevised level, standing at 214,500.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate for the week ending April 6 observed no change and reached 1.2%. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the same week rose by 2,000 to 1,812,000.

The 4-week moving average grew by 4,250 compared to the previous seven days to 1,805,250.
